I forgot how wonderful it is to create out of the comfort zone. Pushing boundaries of self, and having no expectations only to blow past the ghosts of them.
Shooting in a controlled setting was never on my radar. While others learnt in classes, understanding the foundations of lighting and composition, my growth took place in my neighbours gardens, in the woods, in summer blue lakes, in bushes against the roadside. What can I say, the countryside offers a thousand options and the soft diffused light of English cloudy days was the only lighting I strove to master.
It’s ok to be so single minded that you master what you have available, but its also good to look up and recognise when it’s time to grow and expand the craft. This is my first step.

Thank you Indy for managing the logistics of this and letting me use your space :) For this shoot we asked Branka to bring her talent on board. (Branka incidentally also did my wedding makeup) Georgia and Paris were our models on the day. It makes a huge difference when the vibe is good, so thank you team for keeping the energy positive!
Thank you Pratik and Indy for working with me to craft the lighting. We used one Profoto D2 as our main light with a beauty dish. We then used two Profoto A1s with gels to fill and add accents of colour.
I shot this set with the Phase One 100MP camera system. Check out the behind the scenes video below to see a little of how it came together. Pratik filmed it with his Sony camera and I pieced it together :)
